Whenever you are making a fantasy football trade, it is important to consider the games that are coming up. Sometimes, when a star on your fantasy team suffers an injury, people end up just going for the next best known player that they think will do well. However, it is important to analyze that person’s up to date performance in the season and how they have been doing in recent games. After all, form is more important than reputation when it comes to fantasy football. You only get points when Tom Brady makes a good pass, not because he is Tom Brady.

It is also good to consider what the player’s upcoming games are. If you are selecting a quarter back who you think is very good, but he is going to come up against teams that have great defenses in the next few weeks, it might be a better idea to pick someone else. You will not get as many points, because the quarter back might have a few average games. Instead, pick someone who has a run of games where he will be playing weaker defenses and will probably make more passes leading to touchdowns.

If you are smart about trades, you can really do well at fantasy football.

Simply stat watching as research for fantasy football is an incomplete method to assess and predict the performance of individual players. Knowing the nuances of the game and accurately determining the expected outcomes takes a certain feel for the game of football. This feel is not easily acquired; it must be honed over time.

When playing fantasy football, being mindful of all injuries will play a major role in your success. Many just check their own team to ensure they are free of injured players in their lineup and leave it at that. Functioning in this way will not do you any favors with regards to wins and losses. Imagine this scenario: you have a teams number one running back on your fantasy team. The teams number two running back is injured, knowing that, it is a safe guess that the number one back will be fed even more touches as result of the number two back being hurt. That’s the guy to start.

Checking opposing teams in the same manner can also pay off; if the opposing defense’s star nose tackle is out, the running back playing against them could be poised for a huge day. Simple stats could have never revealed that information.

Well, fantasy football season is here again and there are some draft strategy tips you must follow. Your draft strategy will vary some depending on the type of league you are in. First, are you in a keeper league or one that starts over every year with fresh rosters. How is your scoring system set up, for example do the players get to use the return yards that the accumulate.

The NFL has switched from a run oriented league to a pass happy league. This has made the wide receiver positions value increase. Another trend is teams using a running back by committee approach which has devalued the running back position. I still use my first several draft picks on running backs as long as I can get the running backs that will be primary ball carriers and not split time with others. Once you get your starting running backs then try and pick up a decent quarterback. At this point the top tier quarterbacks will be gone but you can still get a second tier and the point difference will not be that much. Since it is a pass happy league I feel that you can get decent wide receivers later in rounds 4 and one. Running backs are still gold.

If you’re the league host this year you should consider throwing a huge end-of-season bash and we’ve got all the tips you need to make sure it’s a great one!
Get Satellite: With NFL Sunday Ticket you can replay scenes from the best games and rework plays to show off the best scorers of the season. If you want, host the party on the last Sunday of the year for extra oomph.
Get Food: Your friends are going to be hungry and you need something besides beer. Make some high-end pigs in a blanket or even some dips – no one doesn’t like dips! The more food you have the better party people will think it is.
Get Decorations: You’ve got to get a small trophy to give the winner of your league and you may as well go all out and get some football dcor. From helmets that serve as chip bowls to team colored confetti go crazy and don’t worry about being cheesy!

NFL football is the most popular sport in America, and fantasy football has become one of the most popular pastimes. At the end of the summer millions of Americans gather for their fantasy football drafts; those in the know end up with great fantasy teams, while those that don’t follow the ‘rules’ are out of the running for the fanatasy Superbowl by week 4. The following is a list of rules that should never be broken when it comes to fantasy football.

1.) Always do your homework. Do tons of research before your fantasy draft. Keep up to date on injuries, who is excelling in the pre-season, and who is falling short of expectations.

2.) Never Draft a Kicker, Tight End, or Defense early. There may be times when these positions are a difference maker, but for the most part you can draft these positions in the last rounds, or pick them up off waivers.

3.) Know your scoring system. A drafting strategy is very dependant on the scoring system that your league uses.

4.) Make sure your team has depth at RB and WR. In most leagues you will start 2 RBs, 2 WRs and a flex player which is a RB or WR.

5.) Pay attention to bye weeks. You can draft the best team ever, but if bye weeks at the same position overlap you are not likely to have a good season.

One of the biggest mistakes that you cannot make when playing fantasy football is to put all of your eggs in one basket.
Your fantasy team should not have several players from the same organization. There are a several reasons for this. For one, the points will be divided up and spread out among a group of talented players on the same team as opposed to having one key player from a different team that will always see a lot of action at their position. Second, that particular team with all your players could have a bad game. Things happen and games can go terribly wrong which can result in your fantasy players getting very few points. One or two players from a team with a bad week will not hurt as much. The last thing is that the players on your team could have a bye week. If you are not paying attention each week, you could miss this and it will be too late to change it. Also, if you do catch this on time, there may not be many talented players to substitute for your fantasy team during their bye week.
The key is to diversify your team.

No matter what anyone tells you if you want to be successful in fantasy football you must have a plan in place. If you do not the chances of you winning your league goes down a lot. Individuals that you will be going against will have a plan, so why not you as well. We have some tips for a successful fantasy football team.

The number one rule is use cheat sheets when available. These can be found all over the Internet and should be used. Cheat sheets list all the players, and where you should draft them and how they have performed in the past. This will help you lay out your plan when it comes to drafting your team.

Build your team around running backs and not the quarterback. Many people make this mistake and it costs them valuable points. Running backs tend to get the most fantasy points for a team, so make sure you draft the best possible running backs. Know the rules of the fantasy football league you happen to be playing in. Everyone is a little different and by knowing how points are distributed it can make a big difference in winning and losing.

Pay attention to bye weeks and the schedule very closely. You do not want to draft two quarterbacks who have the same bye week. This puts you without one, so pay close attention to bye weeks and the schedule. Lastly, when making trades do not trade unless it really helps your team. Many times you will find out it is much better not to trade, them help someone else out. Follow these simple tips and you should be at the top of your fantasy football league in no time at all.
